Overview

Network speed measures the upload and download speed of a connection as well as latency.

NetBeez offers scheduled network speed tests and the ability to conduct ad-hoc network speed tests via the Ad-Hoc Testing tab and Agent Console.

Scheduled Network Speed Test Tab

With NetBeez, network speed tests can be configured and scheduled to run at a user-defined interval. On the Network Speed Tab under Tests, you can view existing network speed tests or add a new one.

Scheduled Network Speed Test Details

To view the details of a specific scheduled network speed test, click on the corresponding table entry on the Network Speed Tab. This will launch the Scheduled Network Speed Test Details.

The Scheduled Network Speed Test Details display current and historical data about the test. In the first panel, the visual slider displays aggregate performance data about the test over time and serves as a means to access information on past test runs. For network speed tests, the slider’s metrics include download speed (Mbps), upload speed (Mbps), and latency (ms). Click on a test run to see more details.

This detail panel displays per-agent performance information about the selected test run. Agents can be filtered by name, agent groups, agent type, ISP, ASN, download, upload, and latency. In the section 'Draw Graph Based On': if download, upload, and latency are selected, there will be a checkbox with the option to transform the graph into 3d.

Upon clicking on an agent from the list of agents in the table, an additional panel will open, which displays the historical data of that particular agent over time.

  4. Schedule the test

    1. Use the scheduling interface to set at what times and how frequently the test will run.
Note: Be sure to double-check the schedule you have entered.

  5. Conditions: Enter the desired conditions.
