Types Of Notifications
Type of Notification | Definition | Example |
Agent Device Alerts | When a network agent gets disconnected. (Not available on software agents or RWAs) | Unplug a network agent. |
Agent Aggregate Alerts | An agent running multiple tests that are in an alert state and triggered in the same batch, an aggregate notification is sent. | Agent with 2 targets, each target running 1 ping test. If both ping tests transition to an alert state in the same batch window, one aggregate notification will be sent. |
Agent Incidents | For an agent running target tests, the number of test from the same type in an alert state exceed the threshold set in Settings > Anomaly Detection > Incidents Configuration. | Agent with 3 targets running ping tests attached and anomaly detection threshold for Ping/Agents is set to 50%. When 2 or more of the targets are in an alerting status an agent incident is triggered. |
Target Alerts | When the alert triggering conditions for a single test are met, a target alert notification is sent for that target. | Target with a ping test that has an alert detector that triggers if 5 unsuccessful ping tests occur. If the ping tests are unsuccessful, a target alert notification is sent. |
Target Aggregate Alerts | Multiple tests within a target are in an alert state are triggered in the same alert batch, an aggregate notification is sent. | Target with multiple agents running ping tests against the target, if the ping tests move to an alert state in the same batch window, one aggregate notification is sent with all alerts listed. |
Target Incidents | For a target with tests running, when the number of attached tests from a certain test template are in an alert state excedding the threshold set in Settings > Anomaly Detection > Incidents Configuration. | Target running 3 ping tests attached and anomaly detection threshold for Ping/Targets is set to 50%. When 2 or more of the tests are in an alerting status a target incident notification is triggered. |
WiFi Alerts | An agent connected to a WiFi profile has a test running on a target that is in an alert state. A WiFi alert notification is sent for that WiFi profile. If Target Alerts are enabled then the WiFi alert notification is ommited. | A WiFi profile is connected to a wireless agent attached to a target running a ping test. The ping test is triggered into an alert state, a WiFi alert notification is sent for that WiFi profile. |
WiFi Aggregate Alerts | Multiple tests that are triggered into an alert state that are connected to agents connected to a WiFi profile, a notification is sent for that WiFi profile containing all aggregate alerts in the same alert batch. | A WiFi profile that has two agents attached to it. Each agent is connected to a target running a ping test. When the ping tests for each agent are moved into an alert state, a notification for the WiFi profile is sent containing an aggregate of those alerts within the same alert batch window. |
WiFi Incidents | When the number of tests running on agents attached to a WiFi profile are in an alert state greater than the threshold on Settings > Anomaly detection > Incidents Configuration, an incident notification is sent. | A WiFi Profile with an agent attached is running 3 ping tests and the Settings > Anomaly Detection threshold is set to 50%. When 2 or more tests are in an alert state, an incident notification is sent. |
